"Beginning right-winger"? What? Is there a merit badge to be earned? Box tops to send in for a valuable prize? I admire Rolo's writing and energy also, but nevertheless often think he's, like Evola reportedly did throughout his lifetime, busily dropping down a rabbit hole with no exit by clinging too strongly to his currentl world view.
A merit badge... now that would be something. Maybe we should start one. Create a questionnaire of 100 questions and the amount that is answered correctly gives you your "right-wingedness" level ;-)
But in all seriousness, the amount of stuff you can learn about natural law is incredible. It certainly feels to me that I have been dropping all my life. With the occasional pauzes where I thought I had it all figured out. Nope.
Btw: I find the term right-winger slightly offensive. In the sense that I do not consider myself a right-winger at all. I consider myself outside of the left-right paradigm. Its just that sometimes I need something to refer to that is understandable to the bigger audience.
Yep -- that's pretty close to what I meant. Too much energy and emotion seems to sometimes leads people down into cognitive/conceptual traps of their own making. Sometimes these traps are permanent and cannot be clambered out of. Thanks.
Good review

what do you mean by:
with no exit by clinging too strongly to his currentl world view. ?
what view? why no exit?
I think he is referring to the fact that we (have to) keep learning all the time and not become settled in our world view.
